About the Course
We all want to improve the health and well-being of Africans. With over 25% of the world’s disease burden but only about 3% of clinical trials occurring on the continent, it's critical that we increase the quantity and quality of clinical trials across the continent. Only then can we develop the medicines, diagnostics and tools that address our population's unique challenges.
ClinOps, hosted by the Center for Innovative Drug Development and Therapeutic Trials for Africa (CDT-Africa) at Addis Ababa University, is a 10-week, high-quality, interactive, internationally accredited course that’s specifically designed to train clinical trial staff across Africa.

INNOVATIVE

INTERNATIONALLY ACCREDITED

AFRICA SHAPED AND LED
Let’s work together to improve health and well-being across Africa. By training more African clinical trial coordinators, we can:
-
Build a robust clinical trial ecosystem that will support the development of the medical tools and interventions required to manage and prevent diseases affecting the continent.
-
Support the drive for more research into critical, emerging and neglected diseases in sub-Saharan Africa.
-
Reduce diseases and support positive health outcomes across Africa.

How It Works

Comprehensive
ClinOps is a comprehensive online training program designed for study coordinators and other clinical trial staff. The program consists of 10 classes delivered fully virtually.

Flexible
Students are able to review lessons at their own pace, but also have the opportunity to connect in real time to other students and instructors. Meanwhile instructors actively track student engagement throughout the course, providing guidance and support.

Hands On
Students also get hands-on experience by developing a risk management plan for an actual clinical trial conducted at one of the participants’ sites. This practical assignment allows learners to apply their knowledge in a real-world context while learning from each other’s experiences.
"Taking this course was one of the best experiences I ever had. I have done a couple of online courses but this one was an eye opener.”
